چکیده

High statistics data for the K → μνγ decay can allow the precision determination of the kaon structure dependent form factors. This study is possible at the proposed FNAL CKM experiment. CKM (Charged Kaons at the Main injector) is a decay-in-flight spectrometer with two Ring Imaging detectors(RICH), and designed to run at the main injector with a high kaon flux. The radiative decay data might be taken complementary to the primary CKM effort to study the rare kaon decay (K → πνν̄) for which CKM was primarily designed. We summarize here the underlying physics of K → μνγ, the experimental status, and how the CKM spectrometer may be adapted for this study.

An Expression of Interest to Detect and Measure the Direct CP Violating Decay K L → π 0 νν and Other Rare Decays at Fermilab Using the Main Injector September 22 , 1997 The KAMI Collaboration

We, the KAMI (Kaons At the Main Injector) collaboration, express our interest to continue the experimental program of rare kaon decay physics at Fermilab using the Main Injector. The 120 GeV Main Injector beam will provide neutral kaon beams which are two orders of magnitude more intense than those currently available at Fermilab. This dramatic increase in flux will allow us to study direct CP ...

Fermilab-conf-00/229 Sept2000 Charged Kaons at the Main Injector (ckm)

The CKM collaboration is proposing to measure the branching ratio of the rare K decay K + → π + ν ¯ ν at the Main Injector at Fermilab. Our goal is to be able to observe ≃ 100 events, for a Standard Model branching ratio of ≃ 1. 10 −10. This implies that we must be able to reduce the background to a few events at a reasonable cost.

Future Kac ) n Programs at BNL , FNAL 1

Future kaon decay programs at BNL and FNAL are discussed. The primary focus of these programs is the measurement of the golden modes, K: -+ n“v~ and K+ -+ m+VD . The observation of K+ -+ T+VD by E787 at BNL is the first step in a series of measurements which will completely determine the unitarity triangle within the kaon system. The next step after E787 in the measurement of B(K+ + n+vfi ) wil...

Columbia University REU at Fermilab

The final stages of the MiniBooNE neutrino oscillation analysis made an exciting backdrop for my REU working with Columbia Professor Janet Conrad at Fermilab this summer. MiniBooNE is a νμ → νe oscillation search designed to check to controversial LSND [1] result. My work focused on isolating neutral current delta baryons which undergo the rare electromagnetic decay. When deltas decay via the s...
